  • eBay Giving Works Charity Ribbon Virtual Gifts

  • Raise funds and awareness for your organisation by offering virtual gifts through eBay for Charity.
  • For example, you could offer people the chance to sponsor a horse in your rescue centre, or help fund an irrigation project.
  • Just:
  • Create a listing for a 100% donation to your charity, with a “Buy It Now” price
  • When it sells, send the buyer a thank you card or some other recognition
  • The buyer’s payment becomes funds for your organisation.
  • eBay policies

  • To adhere to eBay policy, you will need to send an item to the buyer in exchange for their payment. For instance, you may want to send a thank-you card or some information about your charity.
  • New sellers cannot set Buy It Now prices on eBay.co.uk. eBay sets some minimum requirements , which you will need to meet to sell virtual gifts.
  • Listing tips

  • Make it clear in the listing title and description what this donation will purchase. For instance, if £25 will purchase three mosquito nets for a family in Africa, include that information in the title and item description to make it more compelling.
  • When selling online donations, you may find it handy to list them as a multiple quantity listing. This way, when one sells you don’t won’t have to create a whole new listing.

Did You Know?

  • There is absolutely no annual fee to use eBay for Charity. eBay gives a fee credit on basic selling fees to charities that sell.
