Run an Online Charity Shop
- If you have items to sell from your regular shop or warehouse, eBay for Charity can help you sell more!
- Charities of all sizes have found that selling items on eBay.co.uk:
- Is highly cost effective (eBay refunds your basic insertion fees and final value fees when you sell an item)
- Reaches a bigger customer base than a high-street shop
- Raises funds and awareness for the charity
- If you have something really special to sell, you should consider holding a special auction.
-

-
Here's how it works
-
- Register with MissionFish: it’s quick, simple and free.
- Register for a seller account on eBay.co.uk

- Add your eBay ID as a "Direct Seller" in your MissionFish account
- List an item, and choose to donate 100% to your own charity
- When the item sells, you receive payment directly from the buyer, and a fee credit from eBay.
- You should also consider setting up a PayPal account
to receive payments from customers on eBay. - To learn more about selling on eBay, book a session with eBay customer support
. You’ll need your eBay user ID to hand.
-
Open an eBay Shop
- If you always have a lot of goods to sell, you should consider opening a dedicated shop front
on eBay to further promote your listings. Note that charges apply. - With an eBay Shop you can display all your listings in one place, with different categories, and they can also be found on search engines, such as as Google. You also get extra tools to develop your own charity’s own brand and encourage buyers to buy more.
Note
- There may be tax implications for charities that undertake significant non-charitable trading. Visit the HMRC website
to learn more.
