  • eBay Giving Works Charity Ribbon Congratulations to the Small Charity Week winners

  • 24 June 2011
  • As part of this year's partnership with the FSI and 'Small Charity Week' we ran a competition offering small charities the chance to win an eBay for Charity grant and the opportunity to be featured in eBay Give at Checkout for a week.
  • Overall we had a fantastic response and would like to congratulate all the small charities that participated.
  • However only three charities could win the £1000 grants; so a big congratulations goes to the winners who worked hard to engage their supporters and gather the most favourite votes on eBay before the end of Small Charity Week:
  • Down's Heart Group
  • Haworth Cat Rescue
  • Fat Fluffs Rabbit Rescue
  • In addition we'd like to congratulate the four small charities who impressed us with their Give at Checkout messages. It was tough to pick winners from such a strong field, and we focused on the messages that communicated, in an emotive and tangible way, how a small donation could make a big difference.
  • Well done to the following charities who won a week's promotion in Give at Checkout:
  • Haworth Cat Rescue: I want to help a frightened abandoned kitten find a safe, loving and permanent home
  • The Parachute Regiment Charity: I want to help a Paratrooper wounded in Helmand to have a better future
  • Quinton YFC: I want to buy a mentoring session for a struggling teenager in desperate need of support
  • Hope & Aid Direct: I want to give a child in Kosovo a pair of shoes and warm gloves that they can wear to school
  • It has been great to work with the FSI and participate in 'Small Charity Week' and we look forward to working with more small charities across the UK and helping you fundraise on eBay.
  • Pauline Broomhead, CEO of the FSI, also congratulated all charities who participated in the competition; 'Congratulations to all the charities who participated and particularly to the winners. The FSI and Small Charity Week would like to thank eBay for Charity for their support of Small Charity Week and for their wonderful work with small charities across the country.'
